Improving seniors' mental health with care, community, and connection.

Help us fight loneliness and build a caring network for our elders.

About Me

Hi, I'm Pratik

My name is Pratik Santhosh from Shrewsbury, MA, and I’m passionate about improving mental health for senior citizens. Through my research and community work, I’ve seen how kindness, support, and genuine connection can make a real difference in the lives of our elders. I’ve explored innovative approaches in Alzheimer’s research and AI-driven health solutions, while also volunteering with seniors to reduce loneliness and build caring communities. My goal is to blend research with hands-on outreach to ensure every senior feels valued and supported.

Research Spotlight: Epigenetic Modifications in Alzheimer's Disease

By Pratik Santhosh

In this research paper, I explore how changes at the epigenetic level could play a role in Alzheimer's disease—and how targeting these changes might offer new therapeutic options. By examining a range of credible sources, my work highlights potential modifications in the DNA of Alzheimer's patients and discusses the promising results from pre-clinical trials. These trials suggest that reversing some of these epigenetic alterations could slow down or even reverse the disease's progression. The paper focuses on three key epigenetic therapies:

  • DNA Methylation Inhibitors: Targeting abnormal methylation patterns to restore normal gene function.

  • Histone Deacetylase (HDAC) Inhibitors: Modifying histone structures to improve gene expression and neuronal health.

  • Non-coding RNA-based Therapies: Utilizing RNA molecules that regulate gene expression to counteract disease processes.

With further advances and the move into human clinical trials, these approaches hold potential as innovative strategies for treating Alzheimer's disease and mitigating its effects.
